The World in Stitches, owned by Randi Nelson, is now the last counted thread brick and mortar shop still open in Massachusetts.  The World in Stitches carries counted needlework, needlepoint, and loads of threads and yarn to inspire your stitching.   They carry mostly linen, but also have aida and evenweaves and can accommodate all by special orders. They ask that customers buy half the yard of special orders.

The World in Stitches carries most domestic designers and a few Italian, Dutch and French designers as well.  They have supplied counted thread workers for 33 years and work hard at getting people started and renewing the interest of those who have madly stitched since the late 80’s and 90’s.  They do special orders.

They carry both DMC and Anchor flosses and still have some flower threads, the rayon Marlitt, and a very fine stranded Merino wool from Vineyard silks.  They also carry NPI, Belle Soir, AVAS, Gast, WDW and CCW, Rainbow Gallery, Threadworx, and Appleton crewel wool.
