Once again, the Annual Stitchers Hideaway Winter Escape is offering an exciting retreat customizable from 2-days to 5-days! Stitchers can choose their 2-day Winter Escape and then add on up to 3 more additional days to make it a.... Stitchers-Hide-A-Week! Now just imagine hiding away for up to FIVE WHOLE DAYS AND NIGHTS of stitching, shopping and laughing with other stitching addicts! The retreat is held in the very roomy Historic Publick House Inn in Sturbridge, Massachusetts -- so big that The World in Stitches is able to set up shop and provide stash enhancement for us right there in the same room! Our delicious meals are served in an attached room. It’s just so perfect! What a great opportunity to snuggle in away from the cold with your stitching buddies and stitch, stitch, stitch!! In Paige Hall, there will be no instructor, no new retreat project, and no set “class” hours -- just crazy stitching fun! Each day we’ll have access to our large stitching room from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. so that we can devote ourselves to our needlework and catch up on our WIPs (Works In Progress). We all love to see each others work so we will have several sessions of Show ‘n Tell of all sorts of crafts! And oh, the door prizes!! But wait, if you are looking for a fun project with several specialty stitches taught by an amazing instructor, consider registering for the Spool of Stitches class being taught by Dawn Fisher of Morning Glory Needleworks. On Monday and Tuesday, she will be teaching her latest project in Crafts Hall just down the hallway from Winter Escape in Paige Hall. There are additional costs for the class and project, but you will still have access to the Winter Escape room and stash enhancements. For more information, check out Spool of Stitches class. YOU CHOOSE which days you’ll attend! Indicate your choice on the Registration Form. Registration for your two-day (minimum) Winter Escape is $385, and each additional day is $175. A non-refundable $50 deposit for each day is required with your registration. Payment in full must be received by January 31, 2025. You must be registered in order to attend this private event and shopping experience. Meals: Delicious lunches and dinners each day are included in the registration fee. A free continental breakfast is included with Publick House lodging. Shopping: Randi Nelson of The World in Stitches will be there for our stash enhancment pleasure all 5 days! And if there is something you need to finish a project, you can contact her beforehand so that she’ll have it there at the retreat for you. Read more about stash enhancement at the Winter Escape! Stash Share: At this retreat we have a table for attendees to unload our no longer needed stitching stash and for choosing among the items new stitching treasures to take home! This has been so much fun! Lodging: Limited discounted lodging is available at the Publick House Inn, the Chamberlain House, and the Tillyer House for the nights of February 16-21 of 2025. Reservations received after January 18, 2025 will be provided on a space available basis at prevailing rates. You must be on the list of attendees in order to receive the group rate.
The Tillyer House and Chamberlain House are right next door to the Publick House. Both the Tillyer House and Chamberlain House have elevators. Please note that you do not have to stay at these lodgings to attend the retreat. Hotel costs are not included in the registration fee so that stitchers can commute to the retreat if desired.
