Stitcher’s Hideaway statement regarding COVID 19

November 5, 2021

Safety considerations concerning COVID-19 are probably on everyone’s mind as we begin to attend events such as our Stitcher’s Hideaway retreats

Right now, in both CT and MA, if you are not vaccinated you must wear a mask indoors.   If you are vaccinated, depending on the town, you may be unmasked in doors (except in required places like public transportation, schools, healthcare facilities).

Stitcher’s Hideaway retreats will follow the mandates in the towns where retreats are being held.   Since this information is continually changing, please feel free to contact me with questions and I will keep the website updated as well as notifying registered attendees.

For dining purposes, we will obviously need to unmask.   I realize some are uncomfortable being around those who are unvaccinated without masks.   I will be working with our banquet coordinators to provide as much social distancing as possible and would highly suggest attendees sit in the dining hall with the same foiks as at their stitching tables.

Regarding moving around in the retreat hall and dining area, please wear a mask for the sake of those with compromised immune systems or concerns.  If at your table, your whole group is comfortable with unmasking and it is allowed by town/state mandate, you may unmask.

As for me, I’m willing to share that I am fully vaccinated and have recovered from COVID 19.   My experience was having my children catch the virus with barely any symptoms and share it with me while I was in between my two vaccination shots.  In my case, I believe it greatly reduced my symptoms (especially having several risk factors).  However, my husband was not vaccinated yet and got knocked down fairly hard (not hospitalized).  Although I  encourage folks to get vaccinated, I know not all can or feel the same way, and I respect that.  If you do want to confidentially share your vaccination status with me so I can state whether we as a group are all vaccinated or not, I can share that without mentioning any specifics.

If you do find yourself potentially or confirmed with COVID 19 within two weeks of your registered retreat, please contact me about getting a refund or moving your registration to another upcoming event.   I don’t want anyone to feel pressured to attend, if they are not feeling well.   We love you all too much to risk it!

Thank you,

Jen
