Gingerbread Christmas Retreat with Thea Dueck of Victoria Sampler!
Monday & Tuesday, October 19-20, 2015 at the Publick House in Sturbridge, MA
This spicy Gingerbread Retreat Cottage is sooo cute! It is Thea's eighth addition to her very popular Gingerbread Village and is stitched on Gingerbread colored linen like the other pieces in the series. Dripping with white icing and elegant Hardanger roof details, this design is a perfect souvenir of your time at Stitcher's Hideaway! Thea loved designing this building because she based the design on Sue's vacation cottage which has been part of her family for generations. You can see Sue's husband Michael welcoming us to the cottage, and Thea and Sue are dressed in red with Santa hats on at the front of the classroom!
This design is richly decorated with Christmas 'candy' buttons and beads, and stitched with yummy silk flosses and snow white perle cottons! Excellent finishing instructions and photos are included at the end of this leaflet, and Thea will bring you each a DVD filled with stitch and finishing instruction videos, so you are can easily stitch and finish this at home!
Look for more Gingerbread Village pieces and future Gingerbread additions on the Victoria Sampler website! Wishing all of you a very fun retreat, with enough stitching to last you till New Year!

This design includes gingerbread colored linen, beautiful silk flosses, charms, buttons and beads. At least half of Class time will be spent on cutting and weaving the Hardanger Roof, including the wrapping, dove's eyelets, partical Greek Crosses, and Diamond Eyelets. There are a few other specialty stitched areas, such as the screen door on the porch, and the rest of the time there will be relaxed Cross Stitching!
A prework kit will be sent to you by the start of September once your registration is paid in full. The prework will include working all the Kloster Blocks for the Hardanger roof, as well as sorting the various threads, and basting your gingerbread linen!
Please bring your best Hardanger scissors with sharp thin blades, as well as extra 24 and or 26 tapestry needles if you like those better. There is good lighting in the classroom, but you may want some additional task lighting and magnification.
