Stitch this charming trick or treating scene just in time for Halloween! Learn and design your own Halloween Drum Pincushion in Thea's fabulous
October class at Sturbridge!
"Trick or Treat, Trick or Treat, Give us something good to eat!
Join Thea Dueck at this two-day Stitcher’s Hideaway retreat and stitch this charming Drum Pincushion just in time for Halloween!
This class will work great for both beginners and seasoned cross-stitchers! The design uses cross stitches, and a few well-known specialty stitches like Lazy Daisy, Bargello, Long Stitch, and Petit Cross. The design is on 28ct golden linen, so good lighting and good eyesight is recommended. Be sure to bring your magnifier, lighting and counting pins.
You will learn everything needed to stitch the design that runs along the bottom of the drum pincushion. There will also be enough material to embroider the top of the drum pincushion. You can frame your piece without glass, or you can follow the excellent finishing instructions and photos which are included at the end of the leaflet to create a drum pincushion. Â (Photo of finished Drum Pincushion will be available soon.)
What an adorable scene Thea has captured in stitches! The little kids are all trooping to the big cauldron, bringing their goodies with them. Anyone who has been refused a treat can report to the kids at the cauldron, where they will cook up something to reward the stingy householders!
Your kit includes beautiful silk flosses, overdyes, beads, and silk ribbon. Just prior to the retreat, each attendee will be emailed the pattern as a PDF, which they can then print off or use their devices to work from in class.
What to Bring: Please bring 3 1/2" embroidery scissors with sharp blades. Also, bring extra 22, 24 or 26 tapestry needles, pencil and note paper. There is lighting in the classroom, but we recommend that you bring some additional task lighting, and magnification if desired.
